Centralia's Barrow runs winning
streak to 8 with win over Trine
Considering she haswon eight straight pitching decisions since March 24, it is strange to hear Centralia grad Kristin Barrow talk about her most recent loss at DePauw.
"Even though I lost, it was my most satisfying game.” Barrow said. “They are a top tier program and I felt like I pitched very well against them. This has been a great year for me and for our team."
Barrow allowed Whitewater just two hits in four innings of work that day, and it has been nothing but victories for the former Annies star. DePauw has not exactly been losing either.
With their most recent contest, a 6-0 win over Trine, DePauw improved to 33-5 on the season. Barrow started the game and allowed six hits over her five innings of work to earn her eighth-straight win. She fanned three and walked one to improve to 9-1.
Barrow has worked 54 innings this season, allowing seven earned runs on 35 hits for an earned run average of 0.91. She has fanned 49 hitters and walked 16.
While they have four games left to play, DePauw has already competed in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, losing to Southwestern University 3-0.
"I am hoping we get a NCAA bid, even though we lost our conference tournament,” Barrow said. “If we can post a winning record over the final six games, I think we will be fine. We have played some tough opposition this year and the other DePauw pitcher (Megan Soultz) is a stud." ...

With only three businesses left to support The College Report Online, it is unlikely this column will continue following summer break.
When you add together the hosting fees, site maintenance, editing and time spent researching and writing the Marion County report, The College Report Online has become a significant financial liability for my business.
There are minimum operating costs involved in producing this product. The College Report Online has operated at a loss for four straight years, and it appears that trend is only worsening.
If the market exists for the The College Report Online, we will continue tracking Marion County collegiate athletes. If the market does not exist, we will not.
